Certainly, there has to be a better name for this thing-a-ma-jig. While 45 rpm adapter is quite descriptive, it is also quite boring. This is the only place I see it referred to as "Spider". But here, it's iconic and 100% cotton.
What amazes me (more than the fact that most cats born before 1984'ish don't even know what this is) is that the newest iPod shuffle is smaller and holds way more songs than an A & B side.
And the real fun was cranking the 45 up to 78!

I love the chart of various 45 adapters on the Wikipedia link. Remember the one on the old Magnavox console stereo? It was a black plastic cylinder with real heft, but I don't expect to find its picture on even one t-shirt rather than 20!
